Productivity through Skills
The UK food and drink industry is one of the largest and most competitive manufacturing and processing industries in the world. With this in mind, Improve has, to date; introduced the most radical change in skills provision the industry has seen for 25 years; become the recognised centre of excellence for industry insights; delivered a full assessment of skills needs and a flexible framework designed to meet National standards, and; launched the National Skills Academy for food and drink. We play a key role in driving the skills agenda for the food and drink industry and ensure that we continue to deliver world class skills for a world class sector.
The National Skills Academy
The National Skills Academy for Food and Drink Manufacturing has been designed to provide the food and drink industry with the training it needs to develop the skills of employees to drive the competitiveness of the sector. It operates via a network of training providers, dedicated to delivering world class training to food and drink employers. To become a member, providers have to go through a selection and quality assurance process to ensure that they are one of the best providers in the UK. They will be selected on their ability to provide effective quality training, as defined by employers, in skills areas demanded by our employers. They must also have a well established reputation for delivering high quality, food sector specific learning solutions.

S A Partners is a consultancy dedicated to helping organisations improve their performance by working to Lean principles. Our focus is on transferring to your people the skills, tools and techniques they will need to lead your continuous improvement activity. We won't do it for them, rather we will coach, train and mentor your people to take ownership of improvement going forward - thereby leaving a legacy that can be sustained. Increasingly we are working with businesses in the food and drink sector, and their supply chains, to realise the potential that the Lean Principles have in reducing environmental impact to create a truly Lean and Green approach.
