2011 Personality of the Year
Christine Bense of Kraft Foods was named the ‘2011 Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards Personality of the Year' at the 2011 awards ceremony.
Now in its fifth year, this award is presented to someone who has made a significant contribution to the sector over the past year, whether by brokering deals, transforming the fortunes of his or her business, or simply delivering exceptional results.
The award is made to an individual chosen from a shortlist of candidates proposed by the Food Manufacture editorial team. Nominations were then put to the readers of Food Manufacture via a poll on the Food Manufacture website.
Kraft Foods' former plant director for its Banbury coffee plant is, without doubt, a rising star. Christine took the reins at Kraft Foods' coffee factory in Banbury almost 2 years ago and has been making a big impression ever since. Christine was instrumental in getting staff at Banbury to embrace the huge challenges facing them. She presided over major changes to raise productivity and introduce environmental improvements. This has been recognised by the readers of Food Manufacture who voted for her to receive this prestigious award. Christine's many achievements have also been rewarded by her employer, which has now whisked her off to work her magic at another Kraft plant in the US.
