Weetabix named Food Manufacturing Company of the Year!
Weetabix picked up the evening's top accolade at the 2011 Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards - being crowned the 2011 Food Manufacturing Company of the Year.
Weetabix were described as a beacon for excellence in food manufacture. Chairman of judges Paul Wilkinson echoed the thoughts of the whole judging panel when he remarked: "Weetabix is an absolutely fantastic story: everything from category management, to innovation and productivity. It is an integrated response to food manufacturing excellence." Weetabix also picked up the award for the Ambient Manufacturing Company of the Year.
All the 2011 winners were announced during the glittering awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Riverbank, celebrating the best in food and drink manufacturing.
Comedian Hugh Dennis, regular panellist on Mock the Week and star of the popular sitcom Outnumbered hosted the sell-out event which saw over 430 guests in attendance.
Christine Bense, former Plant director of Kraft Foods was named Food Manufacture Personality of the Year, voted for by the readers of Food Manufacture.
Other winners on the night included Moguntia Food Ingredients UK, named Small Company of the Year, Nom Dairy UK who picked up the award for Training Programme of the Year and Fruitapeel who won the Judges' Special Award.
